About the Concert Bands
Rosemount High School Curricular Concert Bands
Rosemount High School is proud of the tradition of excellence within the Concert Ensemble Program. All students that are involved in the band program at RHS are members of a curricular concert band that meets for one period each day. The current breakdown of concert ensembles includes:
Trimester 1:
• Concert Band Blue – comprised of 9th grade, non-marching band students
• Concert Band Gold – comprised of 9th grade, non-marching band students
• Chamber Winds and Percussion Blue – comprised of 10th grade, non-marching band students
• Chamber Winds and Percussion Gold – comprised of 11th and 12th grade, non-marching band students
• Marching Band Hornline – All woodwind and brass instrumentalists from the marching band
• Marching Band Color Guard and Percussion – All color guard and percussionists from the marching band
Trimester 2 and Trimester 3:
• Concert Band Blue – comprised of 9th grade students
• Concert Band Gold – comprised of 9th grade students
• Varsity Band – comprised of 10th grade students
• Symphonic Band – comprised of 11th and 12th grade students and selected 10th grade students
• Wind Symphony – comprised of 11th and 12th grade students and advanced 10th grade students
• Wind Ensemble – comprised of advanced band members in grade 10th, 11th and 12th
Concert Performances:
All Concert Ensembles perform multiple times throughout the academic year. Performances dates can be located on the RHS Band Website Calendar

Concert Band Festivals
All six RHS Concert Ensembles participate in concert band festivals geared toward to level of each band. These dates can be found on the RHS Band Website Calendar.
Some of the festivals include:
• Wind Ensemble – South Suburban Conference Festival, University of MN Concert Band Festival
• Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Varsity Band – Concert Band Festival with conference bands
• Concert Band Blue, Concert Band Gold – 9th Grade Concert Band Festival at Edina HS
Honor Band Opportunities
Students are also encouraged to participate in a variety of Regional Honor Bands that are held throughout the year. Each Honor Band has specific deadlines for applications and/or auditions. Band members will be provided information regarding these opportunities in the fall of the year.
